You can expect DJ Journey to spin and mix anything. DJ and producer extraordinaire, this Chicago native has taken both the west and east coast by storm with his original style and refusal to pigeonhole himself into Djing or producing one type of music. DJ Journey wasn't given the name “Journey” by friends for no reason. This multi-faceted spinster has recently gone bi-coastal playing at a number of high profile venues in New York such as Greenhouse, Butter and Marquee, where he most recently provided the beats for an exclusive MTV Music Awards after party. Journey’s next exclusive event is for The International Emmy’s after party where he will entertain some of TV’s most elite and creative.
Hired to spin at high profile events for Red Bull, The X-Games and Ed Hardy, DJ Journey prides himself upon being able to cater to any theme and any crowd. He has been called upon to open up for legends like ?uestlove, The Killers and Grandmaster Flash. Depending on the night and event, Journey can be found spinning for downtown crowds at LA's Standard Rooftop Bar, mashing and mixing in the 80's room at world famous Vanguard or entertaining hip-hop lovers at the latest Hollywood craze, Kress. When he’s not on the east or the west coast, DJ Journey frequents Miami, Vegas, Seattle and has upcoming events scheduled for Dubai and Amsterdam. Beyond the clubs, DJ Journey devotes much of his time to his evolving music production career.
Unique in its genre, DJ Journey uses his love of electronic and orchestral sounds to create scores for music artists, commercials, and television. When he does find spare time, this earth friendly vegetarian of ten years, donates his time and his skills to organizations like NYC Green drinks. He has also provided music entertainment on several airbases for Salute The Troops, an organization that seeks to find housing for wounded war veterans. Journey also gives back to the community by teaching spinster hopefuls the fundamentals of deejaying at the New York DJ Scratch Academy.
So whether he's making you sway in the club, entertaining your ears with his original productions, or mixing and mashing for your favorite cause, this DJ will be sure to question what the definition of a DJ really is.
